To facilitate passengers and manage the rush during the summer vacations, Pakistan Railways has introduced a new summer vacation train service from Karachi to Rawalpindi.
Dates of Operation: July 5th, 2024 to July 30th, 2024
Route: Karachi to Rawalpindi via Lahore
From July 5th to July 30th, the train will run between Karachi & Rawalpindi (Karachi to Rawalpindi and Rawalpindi to Karachi).
Karachi to Rawalpindi: This train will leave Karachi at 8:45 PM, arrive in Lahore at 3:40 PM the next day, and reach Rawalpindi at 10:00 PM.
Rawalpindi to Karachi: This train will leave Rawalpindi at 12:30 PM, stop in Lahore at 6:00 PM, and then reach Karachi at 2:15 PM the next day.
The train offers 17 coaches which includes 2 AC Business Class, 2 AC Standard Class, 12 Economy Class, 1 Brake Van, 1 Power Van, and an additional 6 Economy Class coaches will be added from Lahore for increased capacity. This special train service will provide an affordable comfortable travel option for families and other persons who may be planning to go on vacation during this summer break. I think people will find it comfortable as compared to packed buses.
Furthermore, Pakistan Railways has made traveling more comfortable by adding new air-conditioned restrooms at Lahore Railway Station. These restrooms include hand sanitizer, hand dryers, hot water geysers for winter, shampoo, fresh towels, and diaper changing stations. They will be available at 13 more stations in the next 3 months. These rooms will be accessible for a fee of 50 RS.
