    Turkey Vs Canada Travel:

If you are in a dilemma about whether to visit Turkey or Canada, then you are in the right place. Turkey is a combination of ancient history & modern culture and is famous for its delicious cuisine and historical sites. Meanwhile, Canada is a land of stunning landscapes and beautiful skies, where you can experience rocky snowy peaks and turquoise lakes. Both countries are among the most visited and beautiful in the world, but they differ in their charm. So let’s find out which country suits your taste.

    Turkey Vs Canada Landscape:

Turkey and Canada are beautiful countries but both have unique charm. These are just like Apples and Oranges both are delicious but have different tastes.

Turkey is a geographically interesting country where the East meets the West, and this geographical characteristic is evident through its scenery and landscape. Turkey is a mixture of history, culture, and natural beauty. You’ll find the rocky mountains, beautiful beaches, and historical places in this country. The Cappadocia that is the historical region in Central Anatolia that is famous for its fairy-tale-like rock formations and hot air balloon rides over valleys (one of my lovely experiences).

Turkey is also famous for its ancient mosques like Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia, very respectful among Muslims.

The Turkish Riviera along the Mediterranean coast has stunning beaches with clear blue waters that are ideal for relaxation or adventure. The country also has rich forests, especially in the Black Sea region, which are full of lush greenery and rivers.

On the other hand, Canada is ideal for nature lovers as it has high-peak mountains, lush forests, and charismatic cities. It’s a place of wild nature that is rarely explored and the people who like to explore hidden gems and less-visited areas would likely love Canada.

The national parks of Canada, like Banff and Jasper, are famous for their mountain ranges, turquoise lakes, and wildlife. And the eastern coastline of Canada has craggy cliffs and beautiful fishing villages, especially in places like Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

In the north, you’ll find the icy beauty of the Arctic tundra, which is a land of snow & northern lights. Canada also has some of the world’s largest forests in British Columbia, where there are magical towering trees.

In short, if you like to explore history and ancient places then you should visit Turkey, and if you love mountains and wild nature then you should explore Canada.

    Turkey Vs Canada Culture:

Turkish culture is very beautiful and people are so kind and welcoming. If you visit Turkey and people invite you for a tea or meal then don’t be surprised as they are very hospitable and love to make guests feel welcome. Turkish culture is also deeply rooted in history and you will find various ancient places and mosques that showcase the country’s past.

Turkey is a Muslim country and 99% of the population follows the Sunni Branch of Islam.

Turk loves community gatherings and celebrates holidays with big feasts.

Turkish is the official language in Turkey while English is also spoken in some tourist areas but is less common in rural areas.

Canada is a multi-cultural country with influences from around the world. Canadian culture values politeness and a connection to nature. Canadians are famous for being open-minded.

Canadians enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and canoeing.

There is no single dominant region in Canada. The largest religious group is Christianity, however, Canada is home to people of different faiths such as Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism.

There are two official languages in Canada: French & English. English is more commonly spoken in the country and French is the main language in the province of Quebec.

Signature dishes of Turkish cuisine are Kebabs (grilled chopped meat), Mezes (hummus and dolmas), and Börek which are flavorful pastries filled with cheese or meat.

Turkish cuisine is also famous for its sweets, such as baklava which is a layered pastry with nuts and honey.

Canadian food is known for its mild flavors and use of fresh & local ingredients. This cuisine is not as spicy as other cuisine. The people who like seafood and are meat lovers would love Canadian cuisine.

Canadian food is famous for its fresh seafood such as Atlantic lobster & Pacific salmon, and the maple syrup that is used in many sweets.

Other popular dishes of this cuisine are Poutine which are fries topped with cheese curds and gravy, Butter Tarts (sweet & gooey pastries), and Nanaimo, the layered dessert bars.

Cost of Living in Turkey & Canada:

Turkey is considered more affordable than Canada. The cost of living of one person in Turkey is approximate $724/month and in Canada is $2042/month.

The accommodations are also cheaper in Turkey and it costs around $30 to $100 per night while in Canada it costs around 130 CAD (Canadian dollar).

Transport and food expenses are also higher in Canada.

Canada is ranked as the 15th most expensive country in the world.

So if you want to travel on a budget, then Turkey is the right option for you. Cost of Living Comparison

Best Time to Visit Turkey & Canada:

The best time to visit Turkey depends on which activity you want to engage in. For example, if you like beaches then June to September is the best time for beach holidays (sunbathing and swimming). But keep in mind this is the peak tourist season.

If you plan to visit various historical sites then April to May and September to October are ideal months as there is a pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds.

January to March is the best time for skiing or snowboarding at Turkey’s mountain resorts.

And if you want to experience hot air balloon rides in Cappadocia then March to May is the perfect time for this.

June to August is the peak tourist season in Canada, ideal for exploring cities, and national parks and enjoying festivals.

However, if you want fewer crowds then March to May (spring season) is also good and best for viewing wildlife.

Keep in mind that there are too much rates during peak tourist season, so if you want to travel on a budget try to travel during shoulder seasons (April-May and September-October).
